Benedict XVI not to visit Ukraine now

Pope Benedict XVI of Rome didn't pay adequate attention to the invitation of Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko to visit his country, Ukrainian Segodnya paper has reported on Thursday.

Yuschenko conveyed his invitation to the Vatican's state secretary Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone.

The cardinal in his turn invited the Ukrainian president to visit Vatican officially this year.

"During his time in office Benedict XVI has already visited nine countries. He has a very tight schedule and the list of countries he is to visit has been already approved. It is very prolonged and it's impossible to introduce any changes to it. So he won't be able to come to the Ukrainian soil this year, the Kiev Representation of the Holy See stated.

Yuschenko should have visited the pontific on May 7 last year, but the audience didn't take place. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
