Archbishop of Armagh receives keys of new See House

The keys to the new See House at Cathedral Close, Armagh, were handed over to the Archbishop of Armagh on the 2nd February 2012.

This was a date resonant for the Archbishop as the fifth anniversary of taking up his responsibilities as Archbishop and Primate of All Ireland in 2007.

The Archbishop and Mrs Harper welcomed invited guests to view the house, following a service of dedication and blessing by the Archbishop in the house chapel attended by members of the Diocesan Council and those involved in the project.

Mr Henry Saville, Deputy Chairman of the RCB Executive Committee, presented the keys to the Primate.

The Archbishop paid tribute to all those who had been involved in the project in various ways, saying, ‘I am delighted that the project to build the new See House in Armagh is complete. It will be a wonderful house to live and entertain in and an asset to the city and the whole Church of Ireland for many years to come’.

The project took approximately 15 months to complete, having begun on site in late 2010.
