Shock as Roman Catholic nun falls pregnant‏

Shock as Roman Catholic nun falls pregnant‏IN a bizarre incident, a Roman Catholic nun sworn to celibacy has fallen pregnant after a concealed steamy sexual relationship with a churchmate.

The Roman Catholic doctrine forces nuns and fathers to vow celibacy and abstain from sexual activities and promise God that they won’t engage in such acts.

But a sister at St Joseph’s Mission in Kezi—110 km south west of Bulawayo has flouted her celibacy vows and enjoyed the worldly pleasures.

“I know that she left the mission for Maphisa district hospital at the beginning of December last year, she is no longer a nun,” confirmed Father George.

Archbishop’s secretary in St Mary’s Cathedral in Bulawayo declined to discuss the issue.

But sources at the Catholic-run hospital insisted that Sister Musvindire fell in love with a fellow congregant who later allegedly made her pregnant.

All hell broke loose after authorities discovered the pregnancy in November 2011, leading to the sacking of the nun who was immediately banned from wearing the nun’s veil.

The impeccable source said: “She was asked to leave St Joseph and is now a nurse at Maphisa District Hospital. She (Sister Musvindire) used to live at the Sisters Convent at St Joseph, but the church evicted her.”

She was further demoted as a mission nun.

Other nuns suspected that Sister Musvindire was pregnant months before the pregnancy was discovered.

Sister Musvindire denied the allegations.

The nun is not the first one to be fingered in sexual activities after former Bulawayo Archbishop Pius Ncube was accused of bedding a married woman at his official residence at the St Mary’s Cathedral in central Bulawayo.
