Pope Francis was set to
receive outgoing United States Secretary of State John Kerry in
the Vatican on Friday.
Vatican Spokesman Greg Burke said Kerry is due to meet Holy
See Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin later on Friday.
Kerry is in Rome to take part in the 'Med Dialogues' Forum at
the Italian foreign ministry, along with representatives of 55
countries, including Russian Foreign Minister Serghiei Lavrov.
Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni was set to meet with
Kerry and Lavrov separately on the sidelines of the forum and
the US and Russian representatives could then also hold a
bilateral meeting.
